Okay - So I haven’t
seen Niagra Falls or Victoria
Falls or Angel Falls in Venezuela.
But it’s hard for me
to imagine a more awe-inspiring
sight than the Lower Falls
of the Yellowstone River.
Whenever I look at this one
I can still hear the roar
and feel the mist stroking
my forehead. I intentionally
focused on the tree in the
foreground and blurred the
background in order to create
a feeling of depth, the way
you would see the scene if
you were there, looking at
the wood. If sales are any
indication, This is my most
popular photograph so far.
Special thanks to my long-time
friend Carl Carmichael for
pointing this exact spot
out to me, and to Carl and
Mary for sharing their van
and senior pass with my family!
Yellowstone was the world’s
first national park, set
aside by President Theodore
Roosevelt. Wyoming is also
home to the first national
monument and national forest.
