Way up near timberline, these
wind-blown trees have branches
only on one side, as if to beckon
us, if we’re tough enough
to survive up here as they do.
This is summertime in the Rockies,
and the Snowy Range is amazingly
accessible with the road only
a mile or so from this view.
Slow down. Think on the vast
creation around you and get
a perspective on how insignificant
your troubles really are in
comparison to eternity. Breathe
in the fresh air, feel the cool
breeze in your hair, and thank
God there are still places like
Wyoming to share.
