We had just spent a wonderful
day touring the wonders of
London: the Natural History
museum, the British Museum
with its antiquities from
Egypt, Assyria, and Babylon,
and, of course, the shopping!
Something was missing, I
thought, as Victoria Station
was closed for the umteenth
time for a bomb threat and
we boarded an overcrowded
double-decker bus. “Let’s
go to Picadilly,” I
offered. “I’m
tired!” came the reply
from one of my teenagers.
“This is our last night
here, and you’ll thank
me,” I retorted. They
did — they found enough
excitement there to keep
them going a couple more
hours. This is the hub of
London at night. Enjoy!
