My son Stanley and I were spending a few
days backpacking in the Maroon Bells / Snowmass
wilderness near Aspen, Colorado, and this rock
chuck just begged me to photograph him. He sat
there posing in all kinds of postures, (I think
he was looking for a handout). The animals can
seem extremely tame when people are near, but
it’s best never to feed them for the good
of their health, and trying to pet them can
be dangerous.
